Aquarial KLCC best!

Today was the best and the most tired day in my life i think, wannna know why? Since last night, something I don’t even expect to happen bump into my life. Luckily my plan to cook “udang masak halia cili api” didn’t disturbed much due to no Hafizd_aquariaklcc_074 tap water. I dunno where the mistake was whether SYABAS didn’t distribute the notice of maintaining the pipe line or my cousin didn’t notice it early. Thanks to akak dobi Bandar Baru Bangi coz gave me 5L of water to cook my lovely udang. Hehehe…very nice.

The next day, I went to Aquaria KLCC in KL. As usual, I won’t stay in the komuter for a long time, so I keep on transit to STAR and PUTRA LRT. Comparing to LRT, it is much better than using komuter due to time consuming.

Inside the Aquaria KLCC, I was amazed when looking at the species of fish and other insects and animal. All of them was really cool and make me feel excited and concerned about the animal in this world. The wonderful journey start from Waterfall, Jewels of jungle, flooded forest, The Coast, The Living Reef and The Living Oceans.

What’s more, there is a program called Turtle Conservation – Adopt A Turtle. Turtles have been around since the dinosaurs. Having lived for millions of years, they are now facing their most critical time of their life. Studies have estimated that they will disappear in 10 years if nothing is done.

Of all the 30 species ever discovered, only 7 are left. All of which are highly or critically endangered. These threats are sourced from the one species that can do something about it, mankind.

Here at Aquaria KLCC, we realize their plight for survival. We have taken a stand to contribute to the conservation of turtles and terrapins. Through collaborative efforts, we aim to assist in their fight.

Turtles are threatened at every stage in their life-cycle. Aquaria KLCC has started a Turtle Conservation programme in collaboration with KUSTEM (Kolej Universiti Sains & Teknologi Malaysia) & The Department of Fisheries in aid and support of the rehabilitation, conservation, research, and education in turtle conservation. TV3 is our media partner for public awareness of the Malaysian turtle conservation programme. Hafizd_aquariaklcc_085

The species in the conservation and rehabilitation programmes are the endangered Green turtle (Chelonia mydas), the endangered Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata); the critically endangered River terrapin (Batagur baska) and the endangered Painted terrapin (Callagur borneoensis).Hafizd_aquariaklcc_121

“Headstarting” of the hatchlings into yearlings increases their survival rates. Upon maturity, they will microchip-tagged, satellite- tagged or radio-tagged for identification, tracking and research.Hafizd_aquariaklcc_155

Turtle adoption will also be a part of this conservation programme.

At the end of the day, right now I’m in the office and writing this blog for all of you while waiting for the pizza hut to be delivered in front of the door….
